NFL - HELMET CAM

The initial concept came from the production company, Fresh Base. Translating it into something usable on the day required a lot of forward planning. I designed and built the rig ahead of time, testing angles, balance, and mounting so that once we were on site, everything would just work. There was no safety net. If the rig failed, the idea failed.

Shoot day itself was pure unpredictability. I had no real sense of how much usable footage I’d manage to capture, and the players had no idea I’d be there at all. Every interaction was unplanned, which meant approaching players cold, explaining the idea in seconds, and hoping they’d buy into it enough to give something back on camera.

When it worked, it really worked. The standout moment came from Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings, who instinctively leaned into the idea and flexed straight into the lens, one of those spontaneous moments you can’t storyboard, but completely elevates the final piece.

It was a high-risk setup, but one that paid off by capturing something raw, playful, and genuinely unexpected.

NFL PLAYER INTERVIEWS

Across the London games in 2024 and 2025, one of my key responsibilities was capturing fast, run-and-gun interviews with star players in the moments immediately after the final whistle.

It meant sprinting onto the pitch as the game ended, scanning for the right players, and making split-second decisions on when — and how — to approach. There was no setup and no second take: just reading the moment, timing the question, and pulling out something genuine before the chaos closed in.

The challenge was balancing speed with sensitivity — knowing when to push, when to pull back, and how to get the best possible response in seconds, not minutes.
