Skechers flair

The client came to me with a fully formed creative built around the idea that the boots give players special powers. From there, I developed a series of tailored concepts, each designed to amplify a specific player’s unique attributes and on-pitch personality.

Before stepping on set, the ideas were pressure-tested through a series of test shoots - including an early run on the roof of my building - to make sure everything worked not just creatively, but logistically. Every movement, beat, and transition was refined in advance.

By the time we reached shoot day, the focus was execution. With only minutes per player, there was no margin for error, so the sequences had been rehearsed repeatedly to ensure everything ran smoothly and instinctively in the moment.

Post-production was where the idea of special powers really came to life. The effects language was built around speed and teleportation - exaggerating the players’ movement so they felt almost superhuman. Rapid displacements, snap transitions, and momentary breaks in reality were used to suggest acceleration beyond what’s physically possible, while still feeling grounded in the original performance.

Visually, the effects were unified through a restrained palette of pink accents, pulled directly from the boot colourway. These highlights acted as a connective thread across the work, tying the movement, the player, and the product together. Rather than feeling decorative, the colour became a functional part of the storytelling - reinforcing the idea that the power originates from the boots themselves.
